About us
Monroe Community Groups (MCG) are an essential part of The Monroe Institute’s mission to support the global awakening of humanity through the exploration of consciousness. Monroe community groups provide Monroe graduates with an opportunity to continue their journey after attending a program, while also offering an open and welcoming point of contact for anyone who is curious about consciousness and the Monroe approach.
We’re delighted to be back for September! After a vibrant summer of Exploring Consciousness workshops, it feels wonderful to return to our monthly rhythm. Our next MCG BC West Coast gathering is Thursday, September 10th, from 7–9 pm PDT, and we truly hope you’ll join us. Your presence adds to the energy, connection, and shared discovery that make these evenings so meaningful.
MCG BC West Coast is co-hosted by Tammy McKay (Trinity Connections) and her dear friend, Niki Hughes (Elemental Balance). We meet on the second Thursday of each month from 7–9 pm PDT, creating a welcoming space to explore, connect, and experience consciousness together.
During our gatherings, we work with The Monroe Institute’s Hemi-Sync® audio technology, as well as the newer Monroe Sound Science® available through the Expand app. Each session includes at least one guided meditation or experiential exercise designed to support deep relaxation, clarity, creativity, expanded awareness, the release of limiting beliefs and more.
These experiences offer an opportunity to turn inward, connect more fully with yourself, and explore new possibilities — while also building community with others who share a curiosity about consciousness and the Monroe approach.
Whether you’re new to consciousness exploration, a Monroe graduate, or somewhere in between, you are warmly invited. No previous experience is required — just bring your curiosity and an open mind.
✨ Come explore. Come connect. Come experience.
We’d love to welcome you to our growing community!

Exploring Consciousness: Weekend Workshop
Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kitimat, 635 Dadook Ave, Kitimat, BC V8C 2G7, Canada, Kitimat, BC, CAI’m so pleased to be offering Exploring Consciousness in Kitimat for a second year in a row! It was wonderful to share this experience with our local community last year, and I’m excited to offer another opportunity to explore the fascinating world of consciousness together.
Exploring Consciousness is a focused two-day weekend workshop designed to help you explore your inner awareness, deepen self-understanding, and spark personal transformation. Adapted from the first two days of the Monroe Institute’s five-day Gateway Voyage® program, this workshop introduces you to Focus 10 and Focus 12—expanded states of consciousness that can help you connect more fully with your Total Self and tap into inner resources you may not yet realize you have.
Common Results and Benefits
People experience the workshop in their own unique ways, and the effects—both during the weekend and in the days and weeks that follow—can vary widely. Participants often report benefits such as:- A stronger sense of inner guidance
- Deeper, more effective meditation
- Increased intuition and creativity
- Fresh insights into personal challenges
- Release of fears and limiting beliefs
- A greater sense of expanded awareness
- Deep physical relaxation
- Mental calm and clarity
- Reduced stress
- More energy for daily life
- Better sleep
- Improved problem-solving
- Support for physical and emotional healing
- Enhanced concentration and learning
- More meaningful synchronicities in daily life
- A clearer connection with the Total Self
Although less common, some participants also describe moments of profound spiritual connection, including sensing or communicating with loved ones who have passed, experiencing out-of-body states, or encountering other deeply mystical or transcendent experiences.
You’ll leave the weekend with practical experience, a solid understanding of the methods, and the confidence to continue accessing these expanded states on your own.
This immersive, hands-on workshop runs from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM each day and includes expert guidance and high-quality audio technology.
