The Palestinian Struggle Against Apartheid (Night School)

Details
At this Socialist Night School session, we will be joined by Noura Erakat to discuss the century-long legacy of Palestinians protesting for their rights and freedom. As Israel and the Trump administration are trying to make permanent the exclusivist apartheid regime of racial and religious supremacy imposed upon Palestinians, Palestinians continue to struggle for their freedom through such protests like The Great Return March and the global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement.
Noura Erakat is a human rights attorney and an Assistant Professor at George Mason University. She is co-founder of Jadaliyya and author of Justice for Some: Law and the Question of Palestine (Stanford University Press, 2019).
At its 2017 National Convention, Democratic Socialist of America endorsed fully the Palestinian Civil Society Call for Boycotts, Divestment, and Sanctions and declared itself “in solidarity with Palestinian civil society’s nonviolent struggle against apartheid, colonialism, military occupation and for equality, human rights, and self-determination.” This session aims to further contextualize DSA’s support for BDS and Palestinian human rights.
