About us
Classes on your favourite subject: you.
A live learning experience disguised as a night out. Through stories, science, and practical wisdom, you'll learn how to navigate life with greater purpose, clarity, and confidence. Each class explores a different aspect of being human, because the most important subject you'll ever get better at is YOU.
I'm Tim Tamashiro, and I'm delighted you've expressed interest in ME School.
If you're wondering what ME School is all about, the short answer is this: it's classes about everyone's favourite subject—YOU.
Over the years, I've written books, hosted a national radio show, spoken to audiences around the world, and even spent time as a Buddhist monk. Along the way, I've come to realize that accessible personal growth education is a real missing opportunity in the world.
ME School is my attempt to change that.
Season One will feature six classes designed to help you better understand your mind, your purpose, and the way you move through the world.
Here are the classes currently planned:
1. How To Ikigai
Based on my bestselling book, this class explores the Japanese concept of ikigai, often translated as "reason for being." Together we'll explore purpose, meaning, contribution, and how to build a life that feels more like your own.
2. How To Kill Your Anxiety
Your anxious mind isn't broken—it's doing exactly what it evolved to do. In this class, you'll learn why anxiety feels so convincing, why your brain keeps sounding the alarm, and how to respond in ways that create more relief and less suffering.
My goal is simple: create fascinating, practical, and enjoyable evenings that help you better understand yourself and your life. And remember, you'll be taking these classes in a bar. So cocktails are allowed.
3. Midlife Stoicism
Life can be demanding. Careers, relationships, family, money, health, and the occasional existential crisis all seem to arrive at once. Drawing on the wisdom of Marcus Aurelius, we'll explore practical lessons for navigating life's most challenging years with greater clarity, resilience, and peace of mind.
4. The Curious Networker
If you've ever walked into a room full of strangers and wished you could feel more comfortable, confident, and yourself, The Curious Networker is for you. This class will show you how to start conversations naturally, make meaningful connections, remember names, and build relationships without feeling awkward or forced. By replacing pressure with curiosity, you'll discover that networking isn't about working the room—it's about connecting with people. Whether you're attending conferences, business events, or social gatherings, you'll leave with practical skills that help you be memorable, build genuine relationships, and walk away energized instead of exhausted.
5. The Reinvention Project
If you've ever felt stuck, outdated, restless, or unsure of what's next, The Reinvention Project will show you how to create meaningful change without waiting for a crisis to force it upon you. You'll learn why reinvention is a skill, not a last resort, and discover practical ways to adapt, experiment, and build your next chapter with confidence. Whether you're changing careers, entering a new stage of life, or simply ready for something different, this class will help you move forward with greater clarity, courage, and possibility.
6. Less Reactive. More Aware.
If you find yourself overreacting, replaying conversations, getting caught up in stress, or feeling pulled around by your emotions, Less Reactive, More Aware will help you create space between what happens and how you respond. Drawing from mindfulness, neuroscience, and practical psychology, you'll learn how to notice your thoughts without being controlled by them, respond more skillfully to challenges, and experience greater calm in everyday life. The result is better decisions, stronger relationships, less unnecessary suffering, and a greater sense of control over your own mind.
Class dates and locations will be announced soon.
I'm looking forward to learning with you.
Tim
