Snackluck: Learn to Do a Good Shoulder Massage and to Relax
Details
In addition to a brief food preparation demonstration by Dietitian Vesanto Melina (about how to make your food prep more relaxing); registered massage therapist Char Hunter will give us a presentation about techniques for shoulder massage--that we can then try in pairs and also help us improve our skills at deep relaxation.
An overview of basic shoulder anatomy with a brief introduction to the principles of massage therapy. Presentation of the 4 basic techniques that can be combined to create an effective treatment for shoulder tension.
Following the demo, Char can walk around and answer any questions pertaining to depth, pressure, and frequency while individuals exchange a short shoulder treatment.
The event was moved from Feb 10. It will be held at Vancouver Co-housing, an intentional co-housing community. Please bring some vegan snacks to share.
No pets.
Cost: $2 cash to cover Vancouver Cohousing's cost of hosting us (hot water, soap, TP etc.).
This event includes an optional tour of Vancouver Cohousing.
Take note: While we are big fans of the plant-based diet, everyone is welcome at our events, from omnivore to vegan.
What to bring? Not casseroles or lasagnas or main course dinner meals, but pretty much anything plant-based that you enjoy eating as a snack is A-OK. We'd like to request something other than chips & crackers, only because we usually get way too many, and no peanuts or peanut butter because two people at Co-Housing have allergies (anaphylactic) to peanuts. Please make sure your snack contains no animal products--that means no meat, dairy, whey, gelatin, eggs, and seafood--so that everyone can partake.
