Snackluck, Talk, and Discussion

Is Animal Protein Really King?
Protein is often portrayed as a nutrient where animal sources reign supreme, but the science tells a more nuanced story. Dr. Nagra will explore how much protein we actually need, and how plant and animal proteins compare when it comes to building muscle and strength. He will also examine which protein sources are linked to better long-term health, and take a closer look at whether plant-based meat alternatives can be a healthy option and how to choose higher-quality products.
You must be registered to attend. The event will be held at Vancouver Co-housing, an intentional co-housing community. As usual, we request a $2 donation for Vancouver Cohousing. Also please bring a vegan snack but be sure it includes NO NUTS. (We have at least one person with an anaphylactic reaction to nuts, and one to peanuts.)
What's a snackluck? It's a low-stress potluck where each person brings a snack to share. Could be cookies, fresh fruit, veggies and dip, whatever you want. Just please make sure your snack contains no animal products--that means no meat, dairy, whey, gelatin, eggs, and seafood--so that everyone can partake.
Take note: While we're big fans of the plant-based diet, everyone who has registered is welcome, from omnivore to vegan (no pets please).
Sorry there is construction next door so you may need to park around the corner.
