Join host Brian at the annual Vaisakhi celebration as businesses and homeowners set up tables on the street and offer free veggie food to passersby. The love and graciousness with which the food is often offered is something to experience. There will be more vegan food than you can eat, but it's not all vegan, so ask first if you want to be sure.

Please try to be on time. We are meeting outside the Starbucks on Fraser at 49th Ave. (6544 Fraser St, Vancouver)

Vaisakhi is a huge annual Sikh celebration and parade. We had a marvellous time last time and can't wait for this year! 1pm is the best time to go because there is more food to choose from than at the beginning. Also, some people may want to stay for the parade, which does not start until later in the afternoon.

In many ways Sikhism is a beautiful religion in that it specifically focuses on the freedom and equality of all people. Women, for example, have entirely equal status with men in this religion.

The streets are packed with people and there is lots to see--music performances, dancing, the parade, and people watching are the main highlights.

Don't expect to get close with a car. The streets will be packed with people.

We'll have a memorable experience checking it out. Can't wait!
