There is nothing more powerful than our own mind; it creates all of our experiences.

To meditate is to skillfully navigate the mind — avoiding being carried away by the currents of random thoughts, and making our mind peaceful and still.

Regardless of the method we choose to find stillness — whether that means sitting with wisdom or just letting go of everything — there are well-known, time-tested techniques for settling the mind. In this series of meditation classes, we will use analogies from the great Buddhist master Saraha to help us understand how to meditate and settle our mind.

Whether you are new to meditation or a longtime meditator, these analogies will help your practice. Every class has two meditations: one will focus on breath and one will focus on wisdom.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of meditation experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Classes are approximately 75 minutes long.
  • Classes include two guided meditations and a talk on Buddhism for daily life.
  • Occasionally Q&A is offered at the end of the class.
