About us
Welcome to our morning running and mindfulness community! We meet by the water in Hell’s Kitchen to start the day grounded, clear-headed, and energized. Our group is built around genuine human connection, sustainable movement, and mental wellness—completely free of ego, pace pressure, or competition.
Who Should Join
- Runners, joggers, and walkers of all experience levels who want a welcoming, supportive community.
- Anyone interested in building aerobic base fitness strictly at an easy, conversational effort (Zone 2).
- Anyone curious about pairing short, guided mindfulness with outdoor movement to set a calm tone before the workday begins.
- Absolute beginners to running or meditation—no prior experience is necessary.
What We Do
We meet mostly every Thursday morning at Pier 84 at Hudson River Park (12th Ave & W 44th St). Each session takes about 35 minutes and follows a simple, consistent structure:
- The Grounding (5–10 minutes): We gather seated by the water for a guided Headspace morning routine to check in with the body, clear mental clutter, and center our focus.
- The Run (20–25 minutes): We head out along the flat Hudson River Greenway for an easy conversational zone run. The golden rule: you should always be able to comfortably speak in full sentences.
- The Wrap-Up: A brief cool-down stretch, followed by an optional neighborhood coffee grab in Hell’s Kitchen to chat and connect.
Our Community Principles
- Connection Over Pace: We run for wellness, conversation, and presence. Because we run by time rather than distance, no one gets dropped or left behind.
- Come As You Are: Just bring running shoes and weather-appropriate layers. Please note there is no secure bag drop, so we recommend traveling light.
