Meditation with Carnatic Vocal Music

Tashi Lhunpo Sangha has generously extended their meditation loft space for the purpose of group Indian Carnatic vocal meditation.

As a student of a Carnatic Guru for 14 years, a vocal instructor will lead a group through foundational vocal exercises (starting with Composer St. Purandara Dasa's Swaravalis in Raaga (scale) Mayamalavagowlam).

The ancient belief in this traditional art form is that the 7 notes (sa, ri, ga, ma, pa, da, ni) originate from the sound "OM," the origin of all that exists. The intent of this class is to discover the vibrations of these sounds and relax into it with focus and discipline.

All are welcome (kids/adults) from any background.
