Details

Prepare to be awed and inspired as you explore this hidden art gem in Acton!

Contemporary Arts International, also known as the YV Art Museum, sits on 12 acres of beautiful, wooded serenity and a former granite quarry. The main building, a converted cargo shipping container now known as “The Red Box Performance Hall,” features newly renovated exhibition spaces that house unique collections of paintings, sculpture and musical instruments constructed of scrap metal — as well as a multidisciplinary performance hall, classroom/workshop, and residence for visiting artists. If you’ve joined us on one of our previous visits, expect to see several new major art pieces and installations, and a brand new, one-of-a-kind, one-man-band instrument that’s so new, even its creator is still discovering it!
Outside, the grounds feature more than 100 stone and kinetic metal sculptures, and a large granite rock pile dynamically carved and sculpted each summer by local and visiting artists... all surrounded by 100 acres of town forest.

Yin Peet — Executive Director, founder, and international artist — will guide us through the museum and expansive sculpture park. After our private tour, you’re free to stay and explore the museum and grounds further. Bug spray definitely recommended if you venture into the woods to see more!

The mission of CAI is to promote the creation, understanding, and appreciation of contemporary art in the global context through art education, artist-in-residency, exhibitions, and international symposia.
