What we're about

Calling all poetry people!

North Florida Poetry Hub is hosted by the charity https://www.hopeathand.org/ and is sponsored by the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, the City of Jacksonville, the Community Foundation, the Cummer Family Foundation, the Delores Barr Weaver Fund and the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation.

Hope at Hand offers different ways to explore poetry. Hope at Hand's community mission is to provide poetry lessons for at-risk youth, but our MeetUps are for anyone in North Florida who has a love of words.

OPEN FORUM FOR WRITERS & POETS / WORKSHOP

Online event

This is a virtual Zoom event for the interim due to COVID concerns. Please RSVP and communicate when requested to get the meeting information. Everyone is welcome! This workshop is open to any form of writing: fiction, poetry, diary, essay, play, stand-up comedy, rap, speech, etc. We offer a forum for the writer to be heard and, if desired, receive feedback. It is suggested that writers bring no more than 3 to 5 pages so that we can get to everyone’s work. Any genre or style of writing is welcome, from the mainstream to the avant-garde. The craft doesn’t have to be a solitary pursuit. Come share your words with others and feel yourself a part of a community! Your words matter! Laid-back atmosphere, this is a relaxing evening of sharing and being with like-minded people. Brought to you by the North Florida Poetry Hub Chapter of the Florida State Poets Association, this workshop normally meets at the offices of Hope At Hand on Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida but has been moved to the virtual Zoom platform during the interim due to COVID concerns. Everyone is welcome! RSVP and Full Name required for admittance to Zoom Room, so please message your full name to the organizer if it is not stated, and enter your full name on your Zoom ID for admittance to the Zoom Room. * Link on this page leads to a Facebook events page link.
