Join us to protect our beautiful San Francisco Bay to celebrate Earth Day at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park. YOU can help protect the environment, support wildlife, & your health! The theme for Earth Day 2025 is OUR POWER, OUR PLANET, inviting everyone around the globe to unite behind renewable energy, and to triple the global generation of clean electricity by 2030. How? By joining in Earth Action Day, encouraging all to take action—educate, advocate, and mobilize.
There will be morning snacks and coffee, and lunch* for volunteers provided by the Port of Oakland as a thank you.
Schedule:
9:00am ~ Checkin, Sign Waivers** & Enjoy Morning Snacks
9:15am ~ Welcome & Safety Instructions
9:30am - 11:30AM ~ Beach Cleanup & Educational Activities
11:30am ~ Group Appreciations (Most Unusual Items), Photo & Prizes
Noon ~ Lunch (provided by the Port of Oakland*)
*Please RSVP by Wednesday April 16th so we are sure to have enough food & supplies.

**Everyone is required to sign a waiver form prior to the cleanup or when you arrive at the checkin table.
**Youth (under the age of 18) must be accompanied by an adult. A parent or legal guardian of youth under the age of 18 must also sign the youth waiver form. Students may fulfill community service hours with this activity.

ACTIVITIES
Meet neighbors and other friends of Middle Harbor Shoreline Park. Volunteer activities include shoreline cleanup, possible weed removal or planting, and observing SF Bay wildlife such as migratory shorebirds.
Local community &/or science based organizations will be onsite to offer additional educational activities.
There will be prizes for children and adults (especially those who organize a group of 5+ to attend) binoculars to borrow for birding (weather depending). Bragging rights for most unusual objects found and shared.
WHAT TO BRING
You are encouraged to bring your own gloves and buckets and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and reduce waste. Nurture NATURE, the Port of Oakland & the City of Oakland provide disposable nitrile gloves, plastic trash bags and buckets.
Remember to wear clothes that can get dirty, closed-toe shoes, an extra layer to keep you warm and a hat for sun/wind protection.
You're welcome to bring your own lunch to enjoy in the park after the cleanup. If you'd like to partake in the Port provided lunch, please RSVP BY 4/16/25.
ACCESSIBILITY, HEALTH & SAFETY
Middle Harbor Shoreline Park has wheelchair accessible paths and bathrooms. Pick-up sticks are reserved for people who cannot bend or grasp with their hands.
This is an outdoor event. We ask that if you're not feeling well, have a temperature or have known exposure to Covid-19 that you stay home and rest. Masks are optional. We provide nitrile gloves for your safety during the cleanup and anti-bacterial soap.
