We're folks who like to dance! We go to all sorts of dances, from ballroom to swing and to freestyle-express-yourself dances. Dancing is good for you, so jump in and join in the fun! East Bay Square Dance with live music by KC and the Moonshine Band
The Hillside Club, 2286 Cedar St., Berkeley, CA, USIn November, caller Nina Berry is here to guide us though all the fun dances! KC and the Moonshine Band plays live old-time music! Come on out for a community square dance. No experience necessary; no partner necessary. Kids welcome. The caller teaches each dance right before we dance it.
Doors open: 7:45 pm
Square dancing: 8:00-10:00 pmThis is a queer-friendly event where everyone can dance any role. The caller uses the terms "owls" and "birdies" to refer to the two dance roles in the couple.
BYOB: You may bring beer and wine. No hard alcohol allowed.
Wear dance shoes if you have them! No stiletto heels allowed.$20 general admission (recommended)
$15 member of Hillside Club or of BACDS
$25 supporter
$6 student or low-income
or pay what you can
We accept cash and venmo at the door.This is a traditional or old-time square dance (not a modern or club dance). All dancers are welcome.
