Beginning Argentine Tango with Felipe and Ayano (July)

Join us for beginning tango with Felipe Martinez and Ayano Yoneda! This is a series of three classes for total beginners, and anyone who wants to work on their fundamentals. Tango is an improvisational dance based on connection and communication. Felipe and Ayano teach the fundamental structures that give rise to grace, fluidity, and creativity in social dancing.

These classes are taught using the terms "leaders" and "followers," and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people.

Wednesdays: July 16th, 25th, and 30th
6:45-7:00 pm: check-in
7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango series
8:00-8:30 pm practica

The practicas are included with the classes. Stay, dance, and ask questions!

We encourage everyone to sign up for all three classes. If you are new to tango, it is recommended to start on Wednesday, July 16th.

We are a 10-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. For bike parking, use the bell to enter through the service entrance, and go straight to get to the back courtyard. No parking in the City Club lot. Extra parking is available for $2 per hour at the Ellsworth Structure at 2337 Haste St.

At 8:30 pm on the same dates, Felipe and Ayano teach the intermediate tango series. There is no class on Wednesday, July 9th.
