Beginning tango dance classes with Mira Barakat in Berkeley

Join us in January for tango classes with Mira Barakat! Mira's classes focus on simple, elegant moves for social dancing. No partner necessary; no experience necessary.

These classes are taught using the terms “leaders” and “followers,” and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people.

We encourage everyone to sign up for all four classes, but drop-ins are also welcome.

Wednesdays, January 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th
6:45 pm: check-in
7:00-8:00 pm: beginning tango series
8:00-8:30 pm: practica
8:30-9:30 pm: intermediate tango series
9:30-10:00 pm: practica

The practicas are included with the classes. Stay, dance, and ask questions!

$80 general admission (four classes in January)
$25 general admission (single class)
$15 student with ID (single class)
We accept cash and venmo at the door.

Drinks are for sale at Morgan’s Bar and Lounge, across the hall from the ballroom. All ages are welcome in the dance classes. We also host an intermediate tango series at 8:30 pm on the same dates.
