What we’ll be doing?
We will use Spring as our muse, experimenting and playing with different paints and materials and make a unique abstract painting.

You can choose to create a mixed-media abstract painting, and play with the different paint and materials available.

About Abstract Art
Abstract painting is a style of art that uses color, form, and texture to create a composition, prioritising emotional, symbolic, or internal ideas over the realistic imitation of the physical world.

Because it is non-objective, viewers often find their own unique meaning or feeling within the painting.

Abstract art is a great way to explore and express yourself as well as let your creativity run free. It offers a lot of freedom, removing the need to conform to realistic, academic, or traditional rules.

It's also a fun way to explore mediums and experiment with texture, tools and materials (acrylic, mixed media) to create visual interest.

✂️ What we’ll be doing

Making a collage involves taking inspiration from shapes and imagery, from materials such as magazines, post cards, scrap paper, photos, or fabric, and arranging them to create a new image.

For our collage we will take inspiration from the season of Summer. For instance, the feeling of adventure and excitement it can bring, it's lovely bright colours, its blue skies, it's warmth... Whatever symbols and elements it might mean for you.

During the workshop you can also learn more about the different ways and types of collaging, and how to use it to express your own voice and style.
