We believe that good design happens as a collective. So we shape our Jams to make the most of our busy designers' time, creating unique hands-on events so you can help design the world you live in.
We're a diverse and inclusive meetup that is welcoming of all people and disciplines. No matter where you've been or where you are in your design journey, you are welcome at any Jam.
UX design? Join us. Product design? Get in here. Graphic design? Step right up. Web design, participatory design, service design - we have a place waiting for you.
Experienced professional? Join us to play with new digital tools, learn new exercises, and meet new people, all while using your talent and imagination to be of service to a local nonprofit.
No design experience? No problem. We're all beginners at something! The tools and exercises we use are structured to teach you how to use design thinking for a specific problem. These tools can be applied to all professions and aspects of daily life as well.

December ATX Design Jam - Thinkery!
Austin Community College: Rio Grande Campus, 1212 Rio Grande St, Austin, TX, USJoin us at the ATX Design Jam and our newest spotlight nonprofit, Thinkery, on Tuesday, December 16 for a hands-on brainstorming and ideation event focused on play-based learning experiences around springs (the bouncy-Tigger kind, not the water kind)!
Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out in UX, product design, or design thinking, this workshop will provide real-world experience developing physical learning activities for Austin's premier children's museum.
Get ready to collaborate with like-minded individuals to prototype interactive experiences, refine activity concepts, design engaging play stations, eat free pizza, and have serious fun doing a good deed for a great local organization. Our experienced facilitators will help guide you through interactive activities to deliver innovative solutions that bring STEAM concepts to life through play. Don't miss this opportunity to network with industry experts and take your skills to the next level at the ATX Design Jam!
We'll be at 1218 WEST AVE., BUILDING 3000, across the street from the ACC Rio Grande main building and just a block from free ACC garage parking. Street parking also available. Look for our signs!
Thinkery is a leading nonprofit that pursues joyful learning through play-based STEAM exploration to inspire and equip ALL children to cultivate a lifelong love of learning so that they thrive. We advance our mission through the learning experiences within our museums and programs and through the inclusive research and professional development conducted within our STEAM Learning Institute. After 40 years of service, we understand the power of play and its critical role in child development. We use STEAM, inquiry-based learning, and play as a three-pronged strategy to support the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of children.41 attendees
