About us
Welcome to Onwards Creative Community. Formerly known as Onwards Writing Group, we want to reflect how our motley crew of creatives have grown and changed since we first started meeting back in July of 2022.
Our group is for anyone who needs to carve out a time and space in their week to get a little creative work done, regardless of the medium of that project. Writing a novel or a script? Illustrating a web series? Designing a headpiece for your next cosplay? We invite you to spend an evening with us.
There is no expectation that you will be obligated to share exactly what you're working on if you would rather keep it to yourself, nor would you be obligated to partake in any sort of critique or feedback.
You show up, you chat for a bit, and you make progress. That's the gist.
We meet every Tuesday at the W Anderson Dragon's Lair from 7PM to 9PM. They have long tables with our name on it (it'll still say "Onwards Writing Group,") so we're easy to find.

***NOTE: This is technically our return to MeetUp. We started here, and we've come back to this platform for a limited time. While the group will persist, you will only find us on MeetUp between now and December 2026.
***SECOND NOTE: We don't condone the use of large language models/AI in the generation of creative products, especially under the guise as passing it off as one's own creative project that was conceived, developed, and polished. We recognize there is room for nuance and necessity of AI in some work settings/responsibilities, but insofar as our group and what we do is concerned, it's not something we support. It is antithetical to the joy and work of the creative process.
