What we’re about
Solemates Norfolk Walks is a well organised and a friendly group of people with a positive, uplifting vibe. We walk mainly throughout Norfolk on Sunday morning's plus some evening walks during the summer months and social events where possible. Walking helps to create an improved mood and general overall wellbeing with like minded people with the added bonus of getting to see some parts of the countryside that perhaps you would not otherwise see yourself.
One issue we are strict about is no dogs due to possible cattle problems. If you would like to find out more about us then please take a look at the website www.solematesnorfolkwalks.com or joining the facebook page on the website for photo's etc.
We welcome new faces who are keen to walk to try out walking. Currently the yearly membership is £25.00. However, please note the walks are not a stroll but are more brisk at around 3mph. Some people prefer this but it is an individual choice and considered more beneficial for you.
All you need to bring on the walk is some snacks/drinks for a break and to wear suitable attire.

Winterton On Sea, circular lovely area 7 miles plus drinks afterwards🍺🥂
Recreation Car Park, Winterton, Recreation Car park, Somerton Road, Winterton, NR29 4AW., Norwich, GBPlease join us for a walk with it all ! Meet/park at the bowls recreation free car park, Somerton Road, in Winterton for a 10.30am start. NR29 4DD. Winterton is a charming historic fishing village with its colourful roundhouse thatched cottages overlooking the dunes. Away from the dunes and beach which we get to explore and we may see some seals too. We also explore the area inland with the magical ruins of St Mary's Church at East Somerton. The church dates from 13th/15th century. The remains are covered in ivy, and surrounded by trees, one of which is known as the witches leg in the centre of the church. Blundeston to Oulton Marshes 8 miles
MARKET LANE, BLUNDESTON NR32 5AE, plough pub, market lane, Blundeston, Suffolk, NR32 5AN, Lowestoft, GBPlease meet/park at the Plough Pub, Market Lane, Blundeston, NR32 5AN ready for a 10.30am start. (We have permission to park at the pub plus there is nearby road parking too) The walk takes us south along some good footpaths, past the ruins of St Andrews Church in Flixton and returns via some of the Angles Way. This is an area that we have not covered before so hopefully some rewarding countryside on offer with the edge of Oulton Marshes/Oulton Broad. On our return we can a drink in the Plough Pub, to show our appreciation for letting us park there. New faces welcome to come along and try us out for a free trial. Mattishall Walk 7 miles plus optional drinks🥂🍺
Mattishall Social Club, Mattishall Social Club, South Green, NR20 3JY, Norwich, GBHello, please join us for a walk in Mattishall the geographic centre of Norfolk. It is a busy villlage with a pleasant market square in front of the late 14th Century All Saints Church. We are meeting/parking at Mattishall sports and social club on South Green, Mattishall, NR20 3JY ready for the usual 10.30am start. (We have permission to park at the social club)
The walk is along mostly good footpaths and quiet lanes in undulating countryside. We will do a circular walk over to Wellbourne and return. Please bring along snacks/drinks for a break on route. After the walk we can have a drink in the Social club as a way of saying thank you for letting us park there. Sorry no dogs on the walk. Church Rooms, Holt Road, Horsford, NR10 3DE, Norwich, GBHello, please meet/park at the Church Room, Holt Road, Horsford, NR10 3DE ready for a 10.30am start. Please park tightly, £1.00 per person donation towards church room funds and there will be toilets available too.
The walk is a mixture of lanes, tracks which takes us over to Thorpe Marriot and Drayton. We will walk in Horsford woods (Broadland Park). Come along and shake off the winter blues with some walking and talking! New faces welcome to come along and try us out for a free trail.
