## 10-Day TWIM Retreat in Japan ⛩️

We are excited to announce that a 10-day Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation (TWIM) residential retreat by Achariya Delson Armstrong is coming to Japan! Please register here. And see more details Here.

The retreat will be structured for beginners and advanced meditators with one-on-one daily personal interviews. It will be hosted at a beautiful meditation center in Nagano, Japan.

## Retreat Summary

Location: The beautiful Iramukarapute in Nagano, Japan.
Dates: November 18th, 2023 to November 27th 2023
Technique: Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation (TWIM).
The full proper instructions are here, but three points that make it unique are:

① This technique makes mettā (often translated as “loving kindness”) the primary object of meditation, rather than the breath or the body.
② Participants will balance periods of sitting and walking meditation as recommended by the teacher.
③ TWIM acknowledges that a happy, comfortable mind is easier to keep focused and steady, so maintaining a specific rigid sitting posture on the cushion for long periods of time is not a goal. You may sit upright in a chair, lean your back on the wall and so on - whatever keeps you still and alert without making you drowsy.

## Other Details

(a) For best results, participants will be expected to remain silent for the duration of the retreat* and relinquish their smartphones or laptops to the organizers for the duration of the retreat. (Devices can of course be given back in the event of an emergency etc)

  • Participants can speak during the interviews, to ask questions during the Dhamma talks, or if something comes up and they need the assistance of the organizers.

(b) There will be daily interviews with the teacher.
(c) Participants are expected to attend the meditation hall for the 5:30 AM group session, the 6:00PM Dhamma talk.
(d) Two meals will be provided each day.
