Candle Light “Fire Kasina” Meditation
Join us Thursday Feb 27th, 7-9pm an evening of Candle Light meditation! All levels are welcome.
The Buddha taught over 80 types of meditation. “Fire Kasina” meditation was one of them and dates back to at least 2,600 years ago. It’s so simple a caveman could do it…and based on the good ol’ fashioned practice of looking at a fire, with a twist. 🙂
First, you gaze at the candle flame. After a few minutes you close your eyes, and an after-image appears (usually a colored dot). You concentrate on this image and watch as it changes. This can lead to deepened states of relaxation and calm. That’s it!
