What we’re about
Deep Work is a professional space for meaningful, practical and joyful conversations around integrating spirituality and work.
It's purpose is to learn from each other, uplift, inspire and help people transform their professional relationships and find fulfilment at work. We seek to build a community that becomes a force of good.
WHO SHOULD JOIN
Deep Work welcomes business owners and professionals of all backgrounds and beliefs; optimistic "doers" looking to roll up their sleeves and effect a positive change in their lives, workplaces and communities.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to make lots of like-valued, like-hearted friends who are all striving to positively impact their workplaces and communities.
Over lunch we will explore a specific theme through carefully selected quotations from diverse traditions of thought, movies, literature, global thinkers, pop culture and more.
We will also create an art piece together - it could be a song or a sculpture, a painting or poem, a dance or some drama. :)
An important component of the reflection is on practical applications - how we can go beyond this space to create positive change in our own lives and the organisations and communities we belong to. As such, we'll offer a fun monthly challenge which usually takes the form of an act of service.
WHAT THIS IS NOT
In our effort to create a safe, respectful and uplifting space, it is important for us to share what Deep Work is NOT:
- A business networking group.
- A place to pitch or sell your services.
- A platform to convert others to any specific belief system.
- A therapy group or substitute for professional mental health support.
- A space for debating the validity of different spiritual traditions or beliefs.
- A purely theoretical discussion without practical applications.
- A performance-oriented environment where people feel pressured to demonstrate spiritual "achievement."
- A quick-fix solution for workplace challenges.
- A space that values intellectual discourse over authentic personal experience.
- A politically partisan gathering.
- A place that tolerates disrespect of any tradition, belief system, or individual.
