Friday Chill: Enjoy Live Music and a Picnic in Pacific Park, Newcastle

Join me to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of live music and family-friendly fun at the first Friday Chill event of 2026. Together we’ll have time to relax, socialise with new and old friends, and enjoy a picnic at this much-loved summertime event with local artists performing in Pacific Park.

We’ll make ourselves comfortable with picnic rugs and something to eat and drink. There will be mobile food vans offering a good selection of specialty cuisine or bring along your own picnic favourites.

Friday Chill is a free cultural event hosted by Soul Hub, a local organisation dedicated to supporting homeless and vulnerable people in our community. If you’d like to make a cash donation on the night it will be appreciated.

I’ll meet you at 6.15pm on the grassy slope south of the stage under the big fig tree. The music begins at 6.30pm and goes until about 8.30pm with a short interval.

Bring a picnic rug, some food to share and something to drink, or buy something tasty at one of the mobile food vans.

If wet or stormy weather prevents Friday Chill going ahead i will post on the Events Comments, and we will move our gathering to the cosy friendly Falcon Bar & Restaurant across the road in Pacific Street.

The event is popular and there will be limited on-street parking. Paid parking is available at the Bolton Street carpark or take the Light Rail to the Newcastle Beach stop.
