WALKING WITH GIANTS FORT NELSON AND LUNCH

Come and join me for this very thought provoking tribute Please note there is a £3 charge for the car park and all donations for this are very appreciated as this is listed as a free event but a donation of up to £5 would be appreciated so maybe just top your car parking up 'For Your Tomorrow - The People's Tribute' is an art installation of life-size silhouettes representing the 1,475 servicemen under British Command who gave their lives on D-Day and 50 French resistance fighters. The installation has been created by charity Standing with Giants.
Fort Nelson, overlooking Portsmouth, is a fitting location for the art installation. We are honoured to host it. The installation has recently been on show at the British Normandy Memorial in France and its return to Portsmouth will be a symbolic homecoming for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Tickets are free. We have included a suggestion donation of £5 per booking to help us cover some of the costs of hosting the installation and ensuring we can offer access to this powerful tribute for free for everyone. The Royal Armouries stepped in to host 'For Your Tomorrow - The People's Tribute' following a nation-wide appeal for a venue by the BBC, to ensure it will be on display in time for Remembrance Day, 80 years after the Second World War ended. We understand if you are not able to donate, or wish to donate a different amount, but would be grateful for any donations.
