Observatory Mesa Trail (Flagstaff)

Details
Join us for a 6.4-mile hike on the Observatory Mesa Trail, which climbs through a beautiful ponderosa pine forest. The trail starts with a gentle rise and gradually leads you to the summit, where you’ll enjoy wide-ranging views of the city, neighboring mountains, and the Dry Lake Hills. This moderately challenging hike has about 774 feet of elevation gain and usually takes around 2 hours and 38 minutes to complete.
Be sure to bring water and wear proper hiking shoes—trekking poles can be helpful too. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash. We recommend arriving 15-20 minutes early since parking can fill up depending on how busy the trail is that day. Looking forward to seeing you there!
