🏰 A Day in Bryn Athyn, PA 🏰

I have arranged for a private tour of the three beautiful properties at Bryn Athyn, PA. We will arrive at 9:45 and begin at the Cairnwood Garden House, where we will meet our guide, use the restrooms, leave our bagged lunches in the kitchenette, and watch a brief introductory video of the Bryn Athyn Historic District.

From 10:00 to 11:30, we'll enjoy a 90-minute guided tour of Cairnwood Estate where we will learn the personal history of this Grand Beaux Arts Country House and the private side of the family and its integral role in founding the Bryn Athyn community. Tours includes three floors of the Main House, the Chapel in the tower, the Cairnwood Family Gallery, Servant’s Quarters, and the Carriage House collections of horse-drawn carriages and sleighs.

Then, we will have about an hour to eat our bagged lunches in the Garden House. Don't forget your water or sodas and a ice pack.

We will walk next door to the Glencairn Museum for a 90-minute guided tour which begins in the Great Hall, featuring awe-inspiring architecture and craftsmanship and learn about the Pitcairn family who once lived in this castle-like home. Experience the rooms that have remained unchanged since Glencairn was a home, including the family Chapel and the Main Bedroom and Bath. The elevator ascent to the Tower, with its commanding view of the local area and the Philadelphia skyline, is a visitor favorite. Have your camera ready!

We will return to our cars and drive down the hill to the Bryn Athyn Cathedral (so we don't have to walk up the hill at the end)! At 2:45 begins a 45-minute guided tour of the Cathedral, completing our visit of these three magnificent properties! We should be finished around 3:30 for our drive home.

The price for our private guided tour is $40 per person, payable in advance. No refunds if you cancel. The tour involves a lot of walking and steps. All three properties are air conditioned and have some benches for sitting. You're welcome to drive yourself or arrange carpools with other attendees. It's less than an hour and a half from Wilmington.
