It is very important that we all make sure we can receive MeetUp messages on the fly in very short time.
Sometimes its necessary to contact members about an event - and sometimes that's within short hours of the event (like an hour or 2 or 4 before the event) - to check that you're still attending or whatnot. We've had where our members do not get messages - or don't respond to them - and as I hope you understand, that makes it close to impossible to run this group of over 500 people well enough to be fair to all of us and certainly to be considerate of the restaurants we attend.
I like to think of us all as friends - even if we're still to have met - and its best if we are all on that same page.
Join us to discover, and rediscover, restaurants in the Atlanta area. If you are up for some adventure, we will also plan some great foodie trips beyond Atlanta. So great food, great conversation and new friends? A winning combination. We keep our events small, so expect dinners for 4-8 members only.
What do we ask in return? That you check out the menu and check your calendar before signing up. No last minute cancellations, and definitely no "no-shows". It's unfair to the rest of the group AND to the restaurant. Anyone canceling same day or not showing up will be removed from the group. Policies may change for certain events so make sure to read the fine print!

Bowling - Again!
Comet Pub & Lanes, 1458 Church St E, Decatur, GA 30030, USA, Decatur, GA, USWe did some bowling a few weeks ago, and from what I could tell, we all (8 of us) had fun. (I did not win - but I still had fun.) I'd like to do it again. Its a great casual way to hang out and get to know each other a little better.
The place we went, Comet Pub and Lanes - in Decatur, was nice. It wasn't crowded, we had 2 lanes to ourselves for 2 hours. I think that was a good formula.

The lanes are $40 per lane per hour. We had 4 people per lane last time. That cost us $20/PP plus shoes rental. Let's do it the same way. After we guauge interest (4, 8, 12people?), I'll ask everyone to Venmo me the rental fee of about $20 and I'll rent a few lanes. I think we can accomodate a bunch of people if it works out that way since the place was kinda empty last time.

Dukes of Swing at MadLife Studios
Location not specified yetThis is not an invitation to an event, like usual, so to speak. This is just an FYI if anyone wants to go see me play agian...in a different Big Band. Our repertoire will be songs of both Billy Joel and Elton John.

The gig is at a place called MadLife Stage and Studios in Woodstock, GA. I'll be playing 2 shows on one day, Sunday, September 27th. 1st show is at 2:00 PM, 2nd show is at 5:00 PM.

(8722 Main St., Woodstock, GA 30188)MadLife has a stage, a bar, and kitchen, and high-top tables and chairs. They have a variety of ticket types starting at $46.50, I think. I'm really not that familiar. And honestly, my feelings are not hurt if no one attends this show. But if you want to go.....

1) tip is already included in the $285, and
2) I paid a retainer to LB and I have asked all of us to pre-pay me $200 to secure your spot at the resto. The money will either go to the bill or be returned to you, as necessary. (I'm still waiting on a few people to pay me.)EDIT 8/31/26, 3:00PM: State tax of 8.9% and %5 admin fee will be added to our bill.
We're working on a reservation at Lazy Betty. Its $285 pp. Private room for 12 so far.
