What we’re about
Celebrating and protecting birds from the river to the ocean in St. Johns & Eastern Putnam Counties!
You will need to obtain a ticket from Eventbrite to participate in most of our events as noted on each MeetUp event we list.
We encourage you to consider joining the SJRA. You can join for as little as $15/year, which helps us continue and expand our work. To join the SJRA, follow this link: https://stjohnsaudubon.com/membership/
- We generally host a number of bird walks and field trips throughout our season for our members and the general public. Most events do not require a pre-registration and are free.
- Beginning birders are particularly welcome at our events! The advanced birders who lead these events enjoy helping others learn about the habitats, songs, and lives of birds and how we can protect their habitats.
- Check out the 3,500 sq. ft. St. Augustine Audubon Native Plant Garden that we installed and maintain next to the St. Augustine Visitor Information Center.

St. Augustine Eco Tour Boat Trip with Linda Burek
St Augustine Municipal Marina, 111 Avenida Menendez, St Augustine, FL, USYou need a ticket for this event (see below); you cannot “sign up” for this event through Meetup.
Captain Zach Mckenna, owner of St. Augustine Eco Tours and researcher/naturalist, and Linda Burek, photographer and Florida Master Naturalist are hosting two birding boat tours for St. Johns Regional Audubon January 8 and January 12, 2026.
These tours will give you access to some of the birds who spend the winter in Florida that are best seen from the water.
The boat carries a maximum of 12 guests and is small enough to get close access to many birds but the Captain aims to not disturb them.
Please dress for the weather. It is colder on the water than on land, so bring layers. Bring binoculars if you have them. You are welcome to bring your camera, and Linda will give you tips on taking photos from a boat if interested.
The boat leaves the St. Augustine Municipal Marina promptly at 8:00, so please arrive 15 minutes ahead of time to get checked in. The tour is 90 minutes. These tours are scheduled to depart around low tide when you are likely to see the most birds.
The cost is $45 a seat with a maximum of 12 participants. Tickets for the January 8 tour are available through this link operated by St. Augustine Eco Tours:

We encourage you to consider joining the SJRA. You can join for as little as $15/year (the cost of two lattes), which will help us continue and expand our work. To join the SJRA, visit this link: https://app.joinit.com/o/st-johns-regional-audubon8 attendees
