Meet for a Taize Meditation Gathering

Details

What is Taize? A form of spiritual worship founded by the Taizé community in Burgundy, France, characterized by the repetitive singing of simple harmonized tunes (chanting), often in various languages, interspersed with readings, prayers, and periods of silence.

All are welcome to the weekly Taize meditation gathering at Bush & Gough, held Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm in the candle-lit Chapel at 1620 Gough (between Bush Street and Austin Alley through the tall iron courtyard gate).

Past Taize readings at the corner of Bush & Gough include the words of poet & Biblical translator, David Rosenburg; the Sufi mystics, Rumi & Hafiz; Celtic spirituality scholar, John Philip Newell; Hindu mystic poet, Mira Bai; Zen Buddhist Philosopher, Alan Watts; and German Benedictine abbess and Christian mystic, Hildegard of Bingen.

This broadly pluralistic service, now in its fifteenth year, is open to everyone and offers the opportunity for midweek reflection, spiritual exploration and refreshment, silence and joy.

Please join us.
