Books & Breakfast
Copain Bakery - Southpark, 6601 Carnegie Blvd, Charlotte, NC, USJoin us for artisan coffee, a scrumptious breakfast, (Copain - Southpark) and a fun and relaxing non-fiction book discussion.
We’ll meet one Saturday a month to discuss a different book each month. Join us as your schedule allows. Feel free to come discuss the concepts with us and share your thoughts on the subject of the book. ACTUALLY READING THE BOOK IS NOT A REQUIREMENT (though most of us have at least read some or all of it).
What’s the vibe?
A group of friends gathering together to learn, share insights, and talk about what actually works and interests us in real life.
We will discuss a different book each month. The genres will vary; personal finance, self-help, maybe a biography, a historical account -or perhaps a hysterical account 😉. We’re open to book suggestions for the future sessions. All are welcome, whether you’ve read the book or not!
The featured book for this session is Don't Believe Everything You Think: Why Your Thinking Is The Beginning & End Of Suffering
by Joseph Nguyen. What’s the book about? This bestselling book shares concepts that propose that some of the things we think are "just the way things are," the patterns we live by, and the filters through which we each see and experience life are not an absolute reality that we are stuck with.
The book gently invites you to consider looking at your perspectives as a means to an easier, less-stressed, more joyful life. One concept mentioned is that "thinking positive" isn't exactly the goal. - - In our book club discussion session, we'll share opinions and thoughts about these concepts and have a friendly, fun, and thought-provoking discussion.
If you use this link to purchase the book, you’ll be helping to support this group. Link to Purchase Book
