A classic Preston Sturges comedy & have a great Chinese buffet dinner!

Please join us on Thursday, February 26th, for a special evening of great food and entertainment. You'll see two engaging mysteries, with some added comedy as a bonus.

Up first (at 6:00 PM) we'll show an episode of the highly underrated TV crime / comedy program, BURKE'S LAW, which starred Gene Barry as a millionaire detective. This witty and entertaining series was known for having numerous famous guest stars in each episode.

Next Up, at approximately 7:00 is the 1944 Paramount WW2 era comedy film, HAIL THE CONQUERING HERO, which starred Eddie Bracken, Ella Raines, Raymond Walburn and William Demarest. The film was written and directed by Preston Sturges. Woodrow Truesmith (Eddie Bracken) comes from a family of heroes, so when he's discharged from the army for having hayfever, he's ashamed to return home. He meets up with a group of Marines on leave, who hear his story, and encourage him to return home -- while fabricating a story that he was wounded in battle and received honorable discharge. In the meantime, the girl back home (the gorgeous Ella Raines) anxiously awaits, and against all odds, loves the returning, conquering hero.

There is a private room at the back of the restaurant, so we won't be disturbed by other diners. We will have short breaks throughout the evening, so attendees can restock their plates.
