Beyond the Surface takes you on a connection adventure that is a breath of fresh air for those of you who appreciate engaging in more than just small talk. It's hard to meet new people and when you do, it's often surface level chit chat that just leaves you feeling empty. Beyond the Surface was inspired by speed-dating, but is not about finding someone to date. It's about discovering people through more intimate interactions.
Using the deck of Intimacy Cards I created (@intimacycards [ig]), I lead you through multiple levels of connections, alternating partners throughout the evening. The deck has Emotional (questions to help you share things about yourself), Physical (playful platonic interactions) and Energetic Intimacy prompts (no touching, no talking, but you connect deeply).
You will be encouraged to let down your walls, go a little outside of your comfort zone (but always practicing consent), practice vulnerability experience a new way of fostering relationships with different people. This is a judgment free zone where weird is wonderful and being yourself is highly encouraged. It's not about fitting in, it's about finding the people who fit with you.
Beyond the Surface began April of 2024 and has been growing in popularity as a monthly and sometimes bi-monthly occurrence. After the first event, the second event sold out with a waiting list of over 30 people. With goals to spread this event throughout cities across the world, our home will always be in Berlin at Honey Lou Bar.
