What we're about

As the world gets smaller and flatter, people are ever more connected. But are we more informed and knowledgeable? Are we more engaged, understanding, and empathetic? This workshop is for us to learn together.

Join us for Open Minds, News Talk, book talks, debates, potlucks, picnics, socials and games - all for getting us to talk and share. Kat is taking the workshop with her as she travels the world, so grab one of the events while they're in your town. Kat's events have been to over 28 countries.

*New York Cat English Workshop events are conducted in English.

(Online)🍿《Open Screens》Best TV and Films Series: The Bear

👉 To join the talk, please watch at least 4 episodes (25 mins each) or the entire first season. It may be difficult to participate in the discussion otherwise.

Our《Open Screens》discussion explores the story and ideas in a movie or TV series, as well as issues it may touch upon. We'll try various discussion formats and even a game or two to make our talk even more interesting. It's also a great opportunity for meeting people and using our English.

🔹To join the event:

🌹 Meetup has an organizer's subscription charge for hosting meetups, and an event fee system is encouraged to share the cost. So we'll have a $2/NT50 fee per person for each event—to go toward that group charge. Further donations are certainly welcome too. Big thanks for your support!

⚠️ Meetup uses PayPal or cash for event fee collection. As PayPal is not as widely used in Taiwan, and cash collection is not possible for the online events, we're trying 2 options:

  1. Pay for a single event via PayPal or bank transfer.
  2. Pay for 10 or more event credits in advance via PayPal or bank transfer. Your event credits are good for any future events.

➤ If you don't have PayPal, can't RSVP, prefer bank transfer, or wish to pay for 10+ event credits, please message me for the account info.
➤ Please RSVP to see the meeting link on page right. In case of bank transfer or event credits, the meeting link will be messaged to you after the payment. Thanks!
