Kains woods hike This trail is all in the woods and is probably my favorite within the city. If you have hiking poles you should bring them. And it might be a good idea to bring cleats if you have them. The trail may still be muddy. We will walk in an hour and then turn around and walk back.
The hike will be 8 km going at a 4 km per hour pace Let's meet at the corner of Westdell Bourne Road and Kains Road. There's lots of parking on the side of the road of Westdel Bourne road.

Kains Woods is an Environmentally Significant Area (ESA) along the Thames River, some challenging sections and beautiful views.

Some points too remember: Please read.

  1. The hikes will start exactly on time as posted. I don't mind waiting a couple minutes if someone says they are on route but its not fair for the rest of us to be waiting longer than 5 minutes. So PLEASE aim to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the start of the hike so we can do introductions and talk about a few safety tips. It's a good practice to Google the location the day before so you know how long it's going to take you to get there.

  2. The hikes are cross-posted with the London shenanigans group and look out london. Please only sign up for one group!

  3. If you sign up and then can't make it please be considerate and remove your name from the list

  4. You must wear appropriate footwear. Sandals or slippers are not acceptable hiking equipment. Please wear running shoes or hiking boots.

  5. I have been doing the hikes so that everybody can join. We're not rushing through the trail. We are going at a pace roughly 4 km per hour

  6. No dogs allowed. I love dogs but not everyone does. And if more than 1 dog comes than the dogs may not get along.

  7. These hikes are at your own risk. Leaders and meetup hold no legal liability.
