Niagara Gorge trail hike

This is one of my favorite trails. I'm so excited to share it with you . The trail starts with an 80 step steel staircase that takes you down nine-story vertical drop into a rugged forest path. The Niagara Gorge trail system features rugged cliffside paths, turquoise rushing rapids, ancient rock layers, and lush old-growth forest along the Niagara River on both the Canadian and American sides. The views are amazing!
Please come prepared. Bring a back pack with extra water and snacks. Also make sure that you are wearing proper shoes. And remember what goes down must also come back up. That means climbing that 80 step staircase back up nine stories. 😀
This trail could potentially be 2 to 4 hours depending on how many times we stop to take pictures and breaks. We will not be rushing through this trail. It's going to be a nature hike where we are just enjoying the views of nature. But the trail is very challenging.

In the past I have done the whirlpool Trail. I will not be doing that for this hike. We will be exploring the rest of the trails that are down in the Gorge. The last time I did the whirlpool trail in August it was quite treacherous because of the recent flooding in the Niagara region.

Let's meet at Value Village located at 4465 Wellington Road. At this point we can carpool. Please arrange your carpooling beforehand. And remember to share gas and parking costs. The other cars are good to park there until we come back.

The meeting spot in Niagara Falls is Niagara Glen Nature Center located at 3050 Niagara River Parkway in Niagara Falls. There is a cost for parking but you are welcome to park wherever you want as long as you meet us there at 11 a.m. to start the hike. If we meet at 8am , heading out by 8:30 we should be starting the hike around 11:00 a.m.. Let's meet at the side of the building where the washrooms are located.

This is one of the most scenic hikes in Ontario. Your gonna love it.
