Wheeler Lakes ~7 mi O&B

Details
We are trekking up near Copper Mountain for this fabulous out and back hike to Wheeler Lakes!
The trail starts out of the Gore Range Trailhead right off of I-70. We will hike along parallel to I-70 for the first mile or so, after which we dip into the trees and begin our climb up to Wheeler Lakes.
This Trail is mostly wooded until we pop out at the two small lakes at the top. We will continue on just a little further to a small saddle where we can take in the views of Lake Dillon, Quandary Peak, and beyond.
This is a gorgeous hike in the Gore Range, with some spectacular fall colors and yellow aspen. Elevation gain is ~1400'. This trail is rated intermediate on the trail apps.
*Parking is before the bend of I-70. If you come to Copper Mountain Exit 195 you passed it. The exit is a roll off/roll on road with a parking lot for maybe 20 cars. Mile marker 197.
*Carpool is encouraged as this falls within "leaf peeping" time.
Dogs allowed on leash.
Lunch in Frisco post-hike for those interested!
