What we're about
This is a group for anyone interested in climbing, fitness, yoga, or just hanging out with a cool group of people! All skill levels are welcome, so don't be shy. We look forward to meeting others that we can climb with, whether indoors or outdoors. We also love yoga, cycling, running, slacklining, playing games, and just having fun getting to know new people in an inclusive environment.
Upcoming events (4+)
ASCEND Run Club formed in April 2017. We're a casual group of climbers who are also born to run! We meet every Monday evening near ASCEND Pittsburgh's front desk at 5:45p to mingle and warm up, and take off promptly at 6p! If you're late, you better be fast ;) Typically, everyone starts together and links with similar paces for a 3, 5, or 7 mile run around the South Side, ending back at ASCEND. But occasionally we spice things up and head to the Point, to the top of Mount Washington, or hit the trails in the South Side Park! Any and all are welcome and you do not need to be a member of ASCEND to participate. Spread the word!
In order to participate in Run Club you must register and complete the ASCEND Clubs Waiver, which is different than the ASCEND Facility Waiver. Get all the details and links at ascendclimbing.com/runclub.

About: Come join us for our monthly Sustainability Club climb at Ascend! We're a group of like-minded folks who share two great passions: climbing and the environment. Join us the first Thursday of every month as we boulder, top rope, swap sustainability tips, plan events, and more! Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience.
Time: 7-9 PM.
Location: Ascend Climbing gym's South Side location (note: we switch between the two Ascend locations every other month).
Cost: Day passes are usually $18 at Ascend, but club climbs will get you in for a reduced rate of $10!
What to bring: An open mind and friendly spirit are great places to start. Gym clothes are also recommended. Shoes and gear can be rented at the desk if you don't own any yet.
Parking: Parking at Ascend South Side can be a little iffy, so there's a chance you'll have to park on the street.
Checking in: We recommend signing up online via Ascend's portal before your visit. Make sure you sign up for the Sustainability Club climb so you get that discounted day pass! If it's your first visit, you can sign Ascend's waiver online, too. When you show up, just go to the front desk, check in, and then look for our mascot: the Lorax! (It's a little Lorax plushie.)
Social media: We post a lot of club updates (+ green tips and local volunteer opportunities) on our Instagram page. Give us a follow @ascendsustainabilityclub.

- Events rotate each month between South Side and Point Breeze
- Please register for session below or by contacting the front desk.
- Rotating between BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) + QFTW (Queer, Femme, Trans, Women)
- These climbing sessions are free and are intended only for those in our community who identify with the affinity groups listed.
