Thanks to a TreeVitalize grant, South Side Park has 70 trees and shrubs that have to be planted before the colder temperatures roll in! Please sign up here. We will meet at the paved loop (the bottom of South Side Trail)

Who: ASCEND Sustainability Club, Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, TreeVitalize

When: Saturday, Oct. 31, 9 am to noon

Where: South Side Park, 2000 Julia Street Pittsburgh, PA 15210

What to bring/wear: Bring a water bottle. Be sure to wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (hiking boots or work boots are best). Long socks are recommended so pant legs can be tucked in to prevent ticks. Tools and work gloves will be supplied, but you may also bring your own. Bug spray and sunblock might come in handy. Dress for the weather.

About ASCEND Sustainability Club: ASCEND Sustainability Club is a rock-climbing social club dedicated to making the world a better place through environmental stewardship, community engagement, and the promotion of sustainable practices on and off the wall. We climb together indoors the first Thursday of each month, alternating between ASCEND Climbing Gym's two Pittsburgh locations (South Side and Point Breeze). The club also includes a branch in Erie, Pennsylvania. Click here to learn more, or follow us on Instagram for regular updates here.
