Case File: The Cult Member Killings — Live Detective Investigation
Details
Hello my fellow private investigators,
Join us for a live group investigation into a fictional unsolved murder tied to a secretive cult. This isn't a roleplay night — you won't be assigned a character or a script. We're all detectives working the same case together, reading through witness statements, forensic reports, crime scene photos, and physical evidence, and reasoning out loud as a group to figure out who did it and why.
What to expect:
- Format: A sealed case file, opened in stages. Each stage builds on what we've already worked out — no do-overs, no host feeding us answers, just the evidence.
- Group size: Works best in small teams of 3–5, so if we've got a bigger crowd we'll split into tables.
- Time: Plan for roughly 2.5–3 hours. This is a sit-down, take-notes-and-argue kind of afternoon, not a quick game.
- Difficulty: Medium to hard. Expect false leads, evidence that seems to point one way and doesn't, and a solution that rewards people who cross-reference details rather than go with their gut.
- Beyond the paper: Some elements may ask us to step outside the file itself — a phone number to call, a social profile to check — so come ready to treat the "world" of the case as real.
- No prior experience needed. No puzzles to decode, no trivia knowledge required — everything you need to solve it is somewhere in the file.
- Language: This event will be run in English.
Location: I'll message the exact meeting spot in the park to everyone who's RSVP'd one day before the event.
Cost: This event is free to join! If you enjoy the game, you're welcome to leave a donation afterward — anything from €5 upward helps cover the cost of the case and organizing the event. No pressure either way, just come, play, and have fun.
