Every Sunday, the Ahwatukee Farmers Market isn’t just buzzing with fresh produce and local crafts—it’s becoming a gateway to literacy. We are launching a community-powered children’s book donation drive, and we need your gently used treasures to make it happen.

We’re collecting books in good condition for young readers ages 5 to 13. Think picture books that spark wonder, chapter books that build stamina, and nonfiction that answers endless "why" questions. But we’re especially on the lookout for dual-language titles, stories that reflect diverse cultures, and community-based narratives—because every child deserves to see themselves in the pages they read and to explore worlds beyond their own.

These books will be handed out free to families every Sunday at our market booth. For many Title 1 students in our district, these may be the first books they’ve ever owned. And we’re not stopping at books. This drive runs hand-in-hand with our larger fundraising campaign to provide Title 1 educators with the essential educational tools they desperately need—from classroom libraries and phonics kits to flexible seating and technology that bridges the digital divide.
