55+ Almaden Active Group

Our group DOES NOT CHARGE members when joining the group or any events. If you are asked to pay, it means you accidentally clicked on Meetup+ (which does charge). I am posting a link with instructions about what to do in such case,

Meetup does not pay us any money for any fees they charge to members. This group will not charge members for attending events.

DEAR PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS,
The 55+ Almaden group focuses in making friends in a safe and fun environment by participating in a variety of activities including hikes, walks, live theater, happy hours, karaoke, museums, music in the park, dancing, games, etc.

If you are interested in becoming an Event Organizer or have an event in mind you would like us to put on the calendar, please let us know.

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION:
We remove members who have not participated in any events for two years, are constantly changing their RSVP, or have more than 4 "no shows."

1. ATTENDANCE TO PUBLIC EVENTS: Members who change their RSVP to "not going" within 24 hours will be considered a "no show."
2. ATTENDANCE TO PRIVATE EVENTS: Members who change their RSVP to "not going" within 48 hours will be considered a "no show."
3. PRIVATE EVENT RSVP'S: Priority to attend many of our events will go to members who support this group by attending our events and by having good attendance record (members with no "no-shows" or members who don't change their RSVP often). This priority is important when we host events at private homes or in places with limited capacity. In these cases, we place ALL members interested in attending the event in a "Waitlist." The Event Organizer will then move members in the Waitlist to the RSVP list depending on their participation and attendance history.

REQUIREMENTS FOR JOINING:

1. When joining this group, YOU MUST HAVE A RECENT AND CLOSE-UP PHOTO OF YOURSELF. NO PICTURES WITH CHILDREN. This requirement is for safety and to recognize our members.
2. Answer all the 5 questions.

DISCLAIMER:
Joining any of our events is voluntary and there may be some health risks associated with some of the physical activities we do: hiking, kayaking, walking, swimming, dancing, member's homes with stairs, sports, etc.
It is each member's responsibility to ensure that she/he/them are physically fit and in good health to participate in physical activities.
Members attending physical activities must also come prepared by bringing water, food, clothing, first aid supplies, sunscreen, etc.
Event Organizers are not professionals and make no warranties about the quality, safety, or supervision of the activities they host, especially physical activities like the ones previously mentioned.
If you are carpooling, we suggest you only do so with people you know and are comfortable with. Carpooling is at your own risk.

LIABILITY WAIVER:
By signing for any of our events, you hereby release the organizers, hosts, and all participants from any and all liabilities, claims, demands or causes of action that you now have, or may have in the future, for illness, injuries, damages, and /or economic loss of any kind or nature, arising in whole or in part out of the activities, advice, or information contained herein . You are acknowledging the requirements, the possible risks and are taking responsibility for your own health and safety issues. Safety matters!
