About us
Hi and WELCOME to this page. Please, read all the information provided to avoid future misunderstandings. We hope you will join this group.
This group is meant for people 55+ that want to be ACTIVE by participating in our events. Our goal is to create a group of active members to create a friendly, safe, and loving community. To create such a group, we keep our membership number small.
To that aim, I routinely remove INACTIVE members who have not participated in any events in a one year period.
It IS a GIFT to participate in events created by volunteer organizers & event hosts at no charge to our members and NOT an inherent right when joining the group. We expect our members to support the effort we put into creating free events by attending them regularly.
We discourage gossiping of other members or of any other organizers in the meetup community. Members join the group voluntarily and can remove themself if our policies do not meet their needs.
We offer a variety of activities such as hikes, kayaking, board games, music in the park, live music, art faires, theater... You are always welcome to post an event of your preference. Please, let me know if you are interested in becoming an event host.
Please, do not join this group unless you are 100% confident that you will be an ACTIVE member by at least participating on our events 6 times/year.
- Members not active within a year will be removed from the group.
- ALL members attending "house events" will be placed on the attendance "WAITLIST."
- If there is a "Waitlist," members with good attendance status and new members will have priority on all events and will be moved to the "GOING" list.
- Inactive members (those not attending events in over 6 months), members not attending events they signed up for ("No-Show), and members who frequently change their RSVP may not be eligible to attend events hosted at a member's home or public events with limited numbers of attendees.
- 6+ RSVP changes and 3 "No Shows" may result in removal from the group.
- "NO-SHOWS" refers to members NOT attending events they signed up for AND members who changed their RSVP within 48 hours of the event.
- PLEASE, be considerate and do not use our events as "place holders" while you are in the waitlist for another group.
OUR HIKES:
WE LOVE DOGS. HOWEVER, NO DOGS ALLOWED IN ANY OF OUR HIKES OR EVENTS.

I will get there early around 5:00 pm to save some spots but can't guarantee I can save every spot, so arrive early if you can. Also, it's a time to chat because the music gets loud!
Music starts at 6:00 PM and ends at 8:00 or 8:30 pm, approximately. I will leave a message on the Meetup app letting you know approximately where I am.MUSIC STARTS AT 6:00 pm
THE HOUSEROCKERS are a 10 piece Rock & Soul band from Northern California that plays the greatest songs ever recorded. With a wailing 5 piece horn section and rock solid rhythm section, we bring the timeless classics and todays' hits to life.
Winner of numerous Bay Area Best Band Awards ( "Best Cover Band in the Bay Area" as winners of the KFOX Radio Last Band Standing contest, Best Local Band Los Gatan Magazine, Best Local Band and Best Cover Band Runner Up in San Jose Metro), The Houserockers are a Bay Area favorite - one of the hardest working and in demand bands for over 20 years. We're known for our eclectic, high energy, set lists that fuses rock, blues, funk, 60's soul and R & B. From the music of The Rolling Stones to Bruno Mars, Earth, Wind & Fire to Cee Lo Green, Stevie Wonder to Bruce Springsteen, Hall & Oates to the Beatles, Van Morrison and much more, every performance turns into a house party with people dancing, singing, playing air guitar and having a great time.

FALL CREEK UNIT - AN ABSOLUTE "MUST SEE" PLACE!
Fall Creek Unit | Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, 1561 Felton Empire Rd, Felton, CA, USThis is one of our favorites hikes! The San Lorenzo river feeds the creek miles into the woods. The hike is totally shaded and the sound of the many little waterfalls will make your heart sing with joy! Redwoods, ferns, and a happy running creek that sings... What else do you need?
No bathrooms on site (sorry, morning coffee drinkers!). You can stop at one of the fast food restaurants as you approach Felton OR use MBN (Mother Beautiful Nature!).
FALL CREEK UNIT:
FALL CREEK is close to my heart and one of my very favorite places to visit. The trails meander close to a running creek for more than 2 miles.
This place is going to be amazing with all the rain we have had! The creek must be full of running, singing waters that follows hikers along the trails next to the creek. The trails are fully covered by tall, majestic redwood trees providing a wonderful place to escape to during hot summer months and all year around.CARPOOLING: HIGHLY SUGGESTED!
The parking lot is free but can only hold about 25 cars and this is a popular site. I will suggest to carpool AND come before 9:00 am (our meeting time).
Please, use this link to sign up as a driver or a passenger. Make sure to ask if hikers are enjoying lunch with us.

I made reservations with Noah for 15 (the max # permitted) under the name of Maria (easier than Nieves). First come, first serve. If you RSVP for the hike AFTER the 15 seats are taken, please call the restaurant and ask if they can add you to my group.MILES: 5-6 miles
We will attempt to hike about 5-6 miles BUT we are flexible. You can stop at a specific "stop point" and wait for us to return to pick you up on our way back.
This hike is about 5-6 miles but you can make it longer or shorter if you want to. My back is still giving me a hard time, so I may not be able to do the whole hike but Craig will lead the group if I need to shorten the hike for me.ELEVATION: About 900 ft gradual elevation.
