About us

About this meetup:

AI is a big topic in government right now.
Lots of interest. Lots of questions. And often, very mixed experiences.
This lunchtime meetup is about creating a relaxed space to talk honestly about it.

No tech overload. Just people from across government and related organisations coming together to share what they’re seeing, what they’re trying, and what they’re finding difficult.

Come along to listen, ask questions, and swap ideas over pizza with others who are thinking about AI in public services.

What we’ll talk about:
Rather than long presentations, we’ll use a few short talks to get the conversation going, including:
What AI is actually being used for in government today
Where it’s helping teams work better — and where it’s not
How government teams are building skills and confidence around AI
What makes it hard to move from trials to everyday use
What people wish they’d known before they started
You don’t need to be technical. This is about real experiences, not perfect answers.

Who this is for:
People working in government or public services
Anyone involved in digital, data, policy, delivery or operations
Anyone curious about AI — whether you’re hands-on, cautious, or just trying to understand where to start

What to expect:
Short talks, not long lectures
Open, respectful conversation
Practical insight you can take away
A friendly space to learn from peers
Food, coffee and pool!
