Hey everyone!! There's another Waterfire this Saturday, so it seems like a good weekend to check out the west end of Providence and avoid the craziness downtown. We spend a criminally small amount of attention to that corner of the city outside of our Ogies' events. Kimi's is a perfect chill spot to ease into the night with some great cocktails. After we'll see where the night takes us, but we will certainly pop into Deadbeats as well.

If you've never been to Kimi's, you're in for a treat. It's a bit of a hidden gem in the Providence cocktail scene. Recently celebrating it's three year anniversary, the neighborhood bar serves up some fantastic speciality cocktails. It's a smaller spot, in what looks like a refurbished garage space, with some indoor seating. If the weather is on our side, they open the bay door for some extra space outside. There's often a fire pit or two we could possible gather around.

Kimi's certainly puts a lot of effort into their cocktails, so it's highly recommended you give them a try. They have some fantastic speciality drinks but can certainly make you most of the classics. If you're not feeling cocktails, don't worry they have plenty of other options such as beer, wine, canned drinks, and likely cider.

Our plan is likely end the night at Deadbeats, but even if we pivot we're certainly going to stop in for an extended stay. The horror themed dive bar is still fairly new to the Providence nightlife scene, but it's become a crowd favorite. Deadbeats is a dive bar through and through. Not sure if they even have cocktail specials. However, they have a full bar and can make any of your standard cocktails. Just don't try to get too fancy. There's also plenty of beers on tap and canned drinks. Their prices are pretty cheap for bars nowadays. They have a fair amount of indoor space, and there's a back patio area we could also enjoy.

When it comes to the rest of the plan, we'll see where the night takes us. We may just do Kimi's and then make a beeline for Deadbeats and keep the night simple. Last time we stopped in at the Avery which is a cozy cocktail bar with plenty of outdoor space. It typically gets rave reviews, but the drinks were horrendous last time so we may give it a pass. Unless the group wants to give them a second chance. Ogies's is literally around the corner from Deadbeats, so we could pop in there as well.

Watefire shouldn't effect parking on the west end of Providence, so it shouldn't be too bad unless there's other stuff going on. There's plenty of side streets that allow parking. We'll stick around Kimi's for awhile, so don't worry if you're having an issue looking for a spot. We'll update our location when we move in the comments for any late comers for the first couple hours.
