Hey everyone! The Malted Barley has trivia night every Monday and it’s always a fun time. The trivia starts at 7PM so let's get there a bit before to grab a pretzel or a drink ….or both.

Malted Barely is known for their impressive selection of craft beers, but offer a full bar for anyone who is not a beer person. Beyond pretzels, they also offer sandwiches, salads, and desserts should anyone come hungry. Though, their pretzels are definitely the star of the show.

Please change your RSVP to no if you know you cannot make it so someone on the wait list can join.

Also, we apologize but due to the bar's limited space we have to set a cap for the maximum people to 18 for this event, also we will break into 2 separate teams to allow for fair competition at trivia night for all teams. Hey everyone! Well it's officially Fall, can't believe the Summer passed us by already. We haven't checked out Hot Club in awhile, so let's get together for a few drinks by the river before the real chill sets in.

TLDR: Bar night at Hot Club. Venue is not a nightclub despite name, just a normal bar. Location is beside river so may be slightly cooler, there is indoor space. Link to bar restaurant at bottom of post. Venue has kitchen if you are hungry.

If you're not new to Providence, you've likely already heard or have been to Hot Club. If you haven't, don't worry it's not a nightclub. The bar has been a Providence nightlife institution for decades and for good reason. Hot Club's location by the Providence River makes for a fantastic view while you enjoy your drink. Despite club being in their name, the bar has a pretty relaxed atmosphere. The deck is the crowd favorite, even in the Fall since it offers the best views. Just remember it will likely be a few degrees cooler by the water, so keep that in mind if you're debating on bringing a coat lol. Though there's plenty of indoor space if you get cold.

Drinks wise, Hot Club is kind of like your favorite relaxed neighborhood bar. They can make pretty much any staple drink and likely some stuff you wouldn't order at dive like a negroni or martini. However, don't expect anything too crafty or complicated. There's also plenty of beer, cider, and seltzers. Trust us there's something for everyone.

Hey everyone! It's amazing that it's already time again to plan for Federal Hill's Columbus Day Festival. Feels like just yesterday we attended this event.

TLDR Note: Italian heritage festival celebrated on Federal Hill. Atwells ave will be closed to traffic and vendors will line the street selling food, drinks, crafts, etc. Carnival likely on site for paid rides and games. Live music ends at 10pm so we may catch some as we walk around. Will wait around starting location for roughly half an hour before moving on. Parking will be difficult on the surrounding streets, recommend a ride share or budgeting extra time to find parking and/or walk.

Easily one of the most anticipated annual events in Providence, Federal Hill's Columbus Day celebration is a multi day festival that spans multiple streets in Providence's Little Italy. Atwells Avenue, the main artery through Federal Hill, will be closed to traffic allowing us to roam freely around the street. Not only will the district's usual bars and restaurants be open, but over 80 vendors will line the festival route selling pretty much anything. The highlight is certainly the abundance of Italian food and drinks.

The festival also sports an amusement park complete with some basic rides and games! Don't make the mistake Eddie made a couple years ago and get on the spinning ride after one too many cocktails. He didn't throw up, but he certainly wasn't feeling his best after that questionable decision.

There's also multiple stages with live performances throughout the day. We'll likely miss most of the entertainment due to our later start, but we may catch some performances.

Many of the restaurants and bars will have outdoor stations where they are serving drinks. Typically their selection is limited to prebatched punches and some basic mixed drinks and cans. Still, you'll find plenty to enjoy. So far Federal Hill's festivals have avoided the stricter open container limits the city has imposed on the downtown festivals like PVD Fest and Pride. So, you should be able to enjoy a cocktail while you explore so long as you stay within the festival limits. Obviously, that could change but we haven't heard of any stricter container laws yet.

We may pivot our starting plans closer to the date of the event, so please take a quick look at the event description on the day. We'll also post in the comments if we change any plans. However, let's meet at Harry's on the Hill. They should have some outdoor space and they have offer a full bar. They're less likely to be mobbed than the other spots on the hill. We'll stick around there for awhile to give people time to find parking and track down the group. Once we start moving it may be tough to find us, so please try to get here near the start of the event. Once we move we'll update in the comments if we decide to make any extended stops at a certain location (such as the carnival) for late comers or to regroup with people already here who may have wandered off to do their own thing.

If there's enough of us to justify it and there's a good spot, we may pick a bar as home base throughout the night. That way people can explore at their own speed without having to worry about losing everyone. If we do we'll post that in the comments as well.

Parking is likely going to be a nightmare around Federal Hill. If you don't mind walking, you may get lucky with parking in the downtown area. We highly recommend getting a ride through a ride share or friend/family.

Hey everyone!! Yes we know we're posting this one early, but we just wanted to give everyone plenty of opportunity to buy tickets before the rush. Let's get in the early Halloween spirit by checking out a shadow cast of Rocky Horror Picture Show!!

TLDR: Cult classic film where performers mimic the scenes as the movie plays. Audience shouts and uses props along with the film. RKO Army will sell prop bags (may require cash). Strong themes and language. Event will likely sell out so buy tickets ASAP. Tickets can be purchased via RKO Army's website link below. Youtube link with recording of a similar showing also below to learn more of the experience. Movie starts at 9pm. We'll meet at AS220's bar at 8pm for a drink before. Likely to move to second spot for drinks after the movie.

If you've never heard of Rocky Horror well it's a little difficult to put the plot into words. Young lovers Brad and Janet find themselves stranded on a isolated road after some car trouble. Looking for a phone to call for help, the couple stumbles on an intimidating gothic style manor in the midst of a strange gathering. Hoping to simply make a quick call and return to the car, Brad and Janet are introduced to Dr. Frank-N-Furter and are ushered upstairs to witness the culmination of the scientist's most recent experiment. What follows is a night of madness and some inappropriate fun.

The film was a bit dud upon release in 1975, but it quicky gained a cult following with late night showings that evolved into what is easily one of the most unique movie going experiences out there. RKO Army will perform a shadow cast (mimicking the scenes without speaking) while the movie plays behind them. The audience is encouraged to shout along (and at) the film. There are known call and responses, but they've changed over years. Honestly just go with your heart on what you want to yell, there's not many rules with Rocky Horror lol Even stranger, there are moments where the crowd uses props such as throwing fake toast, squirt guns, and toilet paper. RKO Army will be selling bags with all the props you'll need, so you may want to bring some cash just incase they don't take card. It's not required so you can skip it if you want.

Oh...if you admit to being a Rocky Horror virgin you may end up on stage...ye have been warned lol It's fun though if you don't mind the attention.

If the picture for this event isn't enough of a clue lol The movie does have a lot of suggestive themes and language. Honestly the audience shouting is worse than the film lol Consider yourself warned lol

Another Note: If you never heard of Rocky Horror we recommend you take a look into the film before. There are some themes that some people may find not politically correct by today's standards (mainly the term transvestite is used). The film by no means mocks anything related to LGBTQIA+ issues, but we just want to make sure everyone feels comfortable at the show. The film's most famous song "Sweet Transvestite" is commonly played a Pride events. It's also sung poorly by Eddie whenever the group goes to Boombox haha
