Halloween Night Social!!
Details
Happy Halloween everyone!! We're up to our usual shenanigans this year and hosting our annual Halloween Social! It's always a ghoulishly good time :D
Important (and TLDR) Notes:
This is just a social not a "pub/bar crawl." While we are planning to stop at multiple locations throughout the night, it won't timed/structured formally. If you do drink, please drink responsibly.
This is a 20s & 30s Life After College event. No venue we plan to stop at is formally associated with this event.
Please make sure costumes are appropriate for public venues. (Nothing overly bulky, derogatory, etc.) We don't have any control if bars reject you from entry :(
Double check this post on the day of the event on the off chance our starting location changes. We will avoid cover charges to the best of our ability throughout the night.
We will stay at our first spot for at least one hour for people to find us. Hosts will try their best to keep updates in the comments for anyone who comes late. We recommend meeting us at the starting location if possible.
Ok I won't go nuts on the puns promise haha. Feel free to wear your best costume! We're planning to give out some prizes for our favorites. Likely a best overall and funniest, but we may come up with some other categories too! Nothing major just fun little medals or goofy trophies. Costumes are recommended but not at all required. We're happy to have anyone costume or not, just come on down and have fun! If you do wear a costume, just please keep in mind that we're going to public bars and that they wouldn't have an issue letting you in. Things like an inflatable t-rex costume are hilarious, but may too bulky for a bar for example.
Keep an eye on this post closer to Halloween just incase we need to pivot our plans.
Let's start at GPub. It's always been a good place to start in the past. If you've never been, it's the large basement pub of the Providence G building that's also famous for its rooftop bar. The pub has plenty of space and a huge bar that can make pretty much any staple cocktail. They also have a considerable tap list of beers and ciders. There's plenty of canned drinks as well if you're sticking to seltzers or premade cocktails. They may also have some signature Halloween drinks on the menu. GPub recently moved things around, but they still offer plenty of games. They have arcade games, pool, and shuffle board.
While GPub's Halloween event was the prior weekend, it may still be busy with the holiday. We'll try to "stake" ( :D Ok...ok I know I promised) out the best spot for us to mingle either a corner or some tables hopefully.
We'll stay at our first spot for awhile (at least an hour) just to give people time to find parking and locate us. This will likely be where we pass out the prizes before we move on. Once we move we'll try to keep the comments updated as the night goes on for any late comers. We recommend you try and make it roughly on time to find us at the first location since it may be tougher to find us at later spots if there's a crowd.
After we move, there's plenty of spots to check out. Multiple bars are hosting events on Halloween, and we plan to check out a few. We'll do our best to avoid any covers throughout the night :) Maybe just have some cash on you just incase.
The bars we currently know are hosting Halloween events are Moonshine Alley, Red Door, and Murphy's. The George typically hosts a block party that's popular with our group, but they haven't posted anything yet. We reached out and will update the post once we know for sure they're hosting something. If they are, that will definitely be a stop depending on the weather. Likely our last since it tends to be the crowd favorite.
Now for the less fun/legal stuff. While we plan to hopefully stop at multiple locations, this is not a "pub/bar crawl" just a Halloween themed social. There's no formal structure to this event, just the hosts taking the group to nearby spots hosting events. Stops won't be timed, we will advertise before we move to give people time to close their tabs etc. We also won't have a pre published schedule. The point of the event is just to have fun on Halloween and see what downtown has to offer. It's not much different from any other bar event we host, just there's more going on downtown for us to see. And we're dressed up lol
That being said, please drink responsibly. While we always recommend being safe. This is an event that we especially highly recommend taking a ride share, designating a DD if you come with guests/know other people attending, or scheduling someone to pick you up later in the night. If you attend, you agree that the meetup and its hosts are not responsible for member behavior any damages that may incur.
We have a great group and never have problems, but in the rare event of any issues, please don't hesitate to speak with one of the hosts. We will resolve things to be best of our ability.
Also this event is not sponsored/associated with GPub or any of the other venues mentioned in this description in any way. This is purely a 20s & 30s Life After College planned event.
Ok back to the less serious stuff. Yes, we know our event graphic looks like the cover to a Halloween themed early 2010s hipster folk rock album lol
This event is always blast. Please leave a comment with any questions, or feel free to reach out to the hosts directly. Hope to see everyone there! Happy Haunting!
