Hey everyone! Now that we've had a couple weeks to recover from the holidays, let's get together for a couple drinks and some live music at Moonshine Alley. This spot is usually a big draw for the college crowd, so January is a good time to pop in between the semesters so we (mainly Eddie) don't feel as old haha
Moonshine Alley has been around for a couple years now, but it's still fairly new to the Providence nightlife scene. It quickly became one of the best spots downtown to catch some live music without having to shell out money on concert tickets. The Nashville themed bar certainly brings in plenty of country acts, but typically their Saturday night shows feature a cover band playing music from multiple genres in order to appeal to all musical tastes.
This Saturday Moonshine is featuring two bands, but let's skip the earlier show and get together at 8:30. The second band doesn't hit the stage until 9:30, so we'll have plenty of time to talk before things get loud.
Moonshine has two bars, so it shouldn't be too hard to get a drink. Both should have pretty much anything you may want, but the larger bar is certainly your best bet for anything super specific. They even have frozen cocktails if you're not sick of the cold after walking around downtown. The bar is famous for offering a wide selection of moonshine, including a pretty decent moonshine sangria on tap, if you're brave (or foolish) enough to give it try. Don't worry though, it's the stuff they sell at the liquor store. Not some backwater hooch you gamble your vision on when you take a sip haha
They also have a kitchen that may be open, but we're not sure on how that works for shows since we're not at table. It's certainly worth asking, but we recommend eating before just incase.
We'll stick around Moonshine for awhile, but there's a ton of spots a short walk away that we can check out later on in the night. We'll figure that out on the night.
