West End PVD Stroll (Kimi's, Ogies, and Deadbeats)
Details
Hey everyone! It's been awhile since we've visited the West End of the city for a night out. Let's get together after the long workweek to enjoy a couple drinks and hit up some of our favorite spots in the area.
TLDR Notes: We plan to attend the three bars in the title of this event. We will start at Kimi's. The Avery possible if enough people request on the night. Stops are not timed If you come late, please see the comments on our current location. All spots are within walking distance.
We'll start the night at Kimi's, which we've paid criminally little attention to recently. Kimi's was opened by one of our favorite bartenders from Boombox back in the day, and it offers some fantastic drinks. They can cater to any taste drink wise so there's something for everyone. Last time they also had some small bites available from a pop up restaurant operating out of their kitchen. Not sure if that's still the case. However, don't worry Ogie's definitely has food available if you're hungry later in the night. Kimi's is a bit on the small side since we'll likely have the bay door closed this time of year, but depending on the weather they may have some firepits outside if it's no too cold.
Our plan is to stick with the bars named in the title of the event. They're the highlights of the area anyway. We know some people are partial to The Avery, so we're open to stop in between Kimi's and Ogie's if people request it since it's on the way. Just let the host(s) know you're interested and we can take a poll to see if enough people want to stop.
Our next planned stop is Ogie's Trailer Park. If you're not new to the Providence nightlife scene, the bar likely needs no introduction. If you are new, don't worry we're not shot gunning PBRs by some local double wides. Thought that would make for an interesting night out haha Ogie's is one of the more unique bars in the city. The interior has a 1950/60s psychedelic theme and their outdoor patio is trailer park inspired complete with trailer facades. Like our first stop, Ogie's really shines in the more pleasant months since they have a great patio. However, it's a good size space with a large bar that has everything. They have some great cocktails, ranging from pre prohibition classics, tiki, and modern favorites. If you're hungry, their food window Granny Boo's has you covered. Take a look at the link below for their website with both drink and food menus.
Finally, we'll end the night at Deadbeats which is around the corner. This spot is still a relative new comer but it quickly became a crowd favorite. The horror themed drive bar offers cheap drinks (by Providence standards) and both indoor and outdoor space if the weather is on our side.
If you come late, please check the comments. When we move we'll try to keep everything updated there.
Just a quick disclaimer. This is not a pub crawl. We're not timing how long we'll be at each location, and the order can change if needed. Just trying to give people a clear picture of our plans for the night. Please do drink responsibly and be safe, especially with Ogie's offering some pretty strong cocktails that taste like fruit juice if you go the tiki route lol Eddie has learned the hard way...more times than he cares to admit haha One might say he simply refuses to learn his lesson since he loves mai tais too much haha
Please reach out to the host(s) if you have any questions or leave a comment below. See you then!
