Post St. Patrick's Day Social!!
Details
Hey everyone! Don't worry we didn't forget about St. Patrick's Day this year. Providence is looking a little lame this year. If there are any block parties the weekend before St Patrick's Day, the usual bars haven't posted anything. Plus a few of us are going to be out of town, and Eddie still needs to recover from New Orleans. He's feeling his age...he really didn't even party hard lol
We figured why not just do out own thing the weekend after St Patrick's Day. It's still just after the holiday, and we'll have an easier time getting into the Irish bars hopefully. We may also finally try to pop into Trinity Brewhouse since it reopened if we can.
TLDR Note: This is not a pub crawl, but a St. Patrick's themed event. Green/Irish themed attire recommended but not at all required. Event will start at GPub. If you will need to eat, we recommend you do so there. Hosts plan to stay slightly longer at first location to give people time to find parking/eat. We cannot guarantee other locations will have kitchen. We will update our location in the comments throughout most of the night should you come late or stay at location to finish food. Hosts will give a heads up before we move locations to give people time to close their tabs/finish their drink. Please drink responsibly. We recommend rideshare/taxi or planning a ride/designating a driver. See consent language near bottom of post.
Don your green and join us for a night on the town! We're still in the planning stages so keep an eye out for any changes. However, we figured we'd check out a few spots downtown and see where the night takes us.
P.S. The green or St. Patrick's themed attire is totally optional. If you do wear anything themed please just make sure it's nothing that will get you denied access to a bar.
Let's start the night at GPub. It's usually our first stop on our larger themed nights for good reason. The bar is massive and indoors, which is handy this time of year where you never know what the weather will be doing. Plus it's located right near the heart of downtown with plenty of options just a short walk away. There's also plenty of games we can play while we wait for everyone to arrive.
GPub sports a full bar and can accommodate any tastes drink wise. They can make pretty much any cocktail, so long as it isn't overly crafty. They have a large tap list of beers (including Guinness of course) and ciders. There's also plenty of canned options, including hard seltzers.
If you'll need to eat at some point in the night, GPub is the spot you'll want to grab some grub. To give people time to find parking and break the ice, GPub will probably be the spot we spend the longest amount of time in during the night. We cannot promise other locations we visit will have a kitchen or that you will have enough time to eat before the group wants to move on.
The hosts will try their best to be accommodating if you're waiting for food at GPub, but we can only delay for so long. Please try and order as soon as you arrive just to be safe. If we do have to move before you are done eating, we'll be updating our locations in the comments for the first few hours so you shouldn't have trouble catching up with us. Hosts will also give the group a heads up 15-20 min before we move to give people time to close their tab or finish a drink.
From GPub the world is our oyster. There are a ton of spots we can try and stop in. If you have any requests speak to the hosts on the night or leave a comment. We'll do our best to try and fit it in if possible. The number of RSVPs and how busy downtown is may impact our ability to visit some locations. We'll also keep an eye for any late holiday themed events if there are any. We'll avoid covers as much as possible. Just incase we do end the night at Freeplay, that will have a $12 door charge but it does include free video games all night.
Just a little house keeping/less fun stuff. This is not a pub crawl. Stops will be not timed and we won't have a rigid list of bars to visit like you see on formal crawls. This is just a themed event and we see where the night takes us. We strongly recommend using a ride share/taxi or planning a ride in advance. Please drink responsibly.
By RSVPing to this event, you are agreeing that neither the event's host(s) nor the 20s & 30s Life After College group are responsible for any injuries/damages that may occur. Members are responsible for their own behavior.
We're lucky who have great members and never have any issues. However, please don't hesitate to speak with a host privately if needed.
Ok now that the less fun stuff is out of the way. We hope to see everyone there! Please reach out to the hosts directly or leave a comment if you have any questions.
Otherwise Happy St. Patrick's Day!
