Providence Thrift Market!!

Hey everyone!! If you can't tell by all the outdoor events that have been popping up lately, we're a little excited the weather is finally allowing us to mix things up a little haha It looks like there's going to be a massive outdoor thrift market event in District Park, so let's check it out.

TLDR Note: Outdoor thrift market promising over 40 vendors, DJs, food trucks, and other activities. Link below is to PVD Parks but organizer's socials are linked to page if you want to look for yourself. Unsure on alcoholic drinks available (beer garden likely closed). Host(s) will post exact start location comments at beginning of event, and will stay at start location for approx 30 min before moving. We recommend budgeting extra time for parking. Secondary location stop possible but not guaranteed, any movement outside market will be posted in the comments. The event is being put on by Select Markets, which looks like a pretty large market organizer based out of Boston. Judging by their social media, it looks like this is their first foray into Providence, so we figured why not give them a shot. We know thrift events are pretty popular these days, and unlike the Little City Thrifty we've gone to at the Waterfire Center in the past we'll have room to breathe since it's outside lol

Their Instagram promises over 40 vendors to explore as well as live DJs, food trucks, and free drinks (which will likely be samples of non alcoholic drinks we assume so don't get too excited lol). Sadly The Guild Beer Garden won't likely be open. Their website says it opens in May (unless they make an exception if this event is expected to be large). Not sure if there will be any alcoholic drinks for sale within the market grounds with the beer garden closed. The link to the Providence Parks website is linked below. Thrift markets have been pretty popular in the past (judging by lines we've seen at similar events), so let's get there at the start to hopefully beat the crowds. Though the hardcore thrifters will probably be doing the same, which could make for some prime people watching at least lol We'll set the Guild Beer Hall as the start location since it will get you near the market. The host(s) will pick an exact spot and post a comment at the start of the event on how to find the group. We recommend budgeting some extra time for parking just incase. Luckily since the event is right near the pedestrian bridge both sides of the river works for parking. The host(s) will stay in the starting location for 20-30 minutes for anyone running a little late. After that they will post the plan on how to regroup if you get separated. The park isn't that large, so it shouldn't be too much of a pain to find people if you wander off alone or in a smaller group.

This event is obviously dependent on the weather, so please keep an eye on the forecast and the app on the day of the event. Any changes such as delays, cancellations, or pivoting the plan entirely will be posted in the comments. We will try to make decisions with as much notice as possible.

What comes after, we'll figure out on the day. We can't guarantee any post market stops, but we're obviously very close to downtown so there's the option of going for a drink to wind down and compare purchases if time allows. Any movement away from the market will be posted in the comments.
